My approach as a counsellor

The most important thing in counselling is the therapeutic relationship, where you get to feel heard and understood. I will support you and provide you a safe space where you feel accepted and can talk without fear about anything which concerns you.

I will regularly check in with you to make sure we are working towards your goals and working in a way that suits you best. Meeting your needs will always be the focus of our work together. You will find our time together a warm, safe and non-judgemental space.

Everyone grows naturally towards the best they can be but sometimes events and choices can hold us back. We can explore at your pace your relationships, areas of your life and thoughts and feelings which are challenging. Counselling will help you make choices which to enable you to move through life with a sense of satisfaction and fulfilment.

I will help you to build trust and confidence in your self and in your own decision-making . I'll support you to improve self-esteem and understand and accept who you are so you can reconnect with yourself. I understand how the judgements of others can affect you and through counselling together, I will support you to trust and have confidence in yourself.

Counselling sessions with me

You may feel apprehensive or fearful of 'what to do' and 'how to do it.' It might seem impossible to change or maybe you've tried before and not succeeded. Talking through your issues in a confidential space will feel like lightening the load you have been carrying. I will offer you all the support you need to help you achieve the changes you want.

We will explore why life feels tangled up and make positive changes, talk about letting go of behaviours that work against you and adjusting feelings that hold you back with those which support you. You will always be offered the choice of what we talk about each week.
