  • Where is my life going?

Whilst I work with a wide range of issues, I have a special interest in helping clients improve feelings of low self-esteem and working with clients to make changes when emotions sometimes feel like a roller coaster, feel confusing or are out of control.

I know how these feelings can come and go and it feels like 'good days and bad days,' or it feels like you're always dragging an anchor which you just can't shake free. I understand difficult feelings may leave you with a sense of loneliness and it can be too difficult being in the company of others. This feeling sometimes feels impossible to sort out on your own and can become overwhelming leading to anxiety, depression or more. As your counsellor, I offer a space to talk where I will listen and help you to steer your way through to the positive changes you want to make.

I understand you may feel apprehensive or fearful of 'what to do' and 'how to do it' and this may weigh heavily upon you. It might feel impossible to change or you've tried before and not succeeded. Talking through your feelings, at your own pace, with my support in a safe and confidential space may help lighten the load which you may feel you often carry. My goal is to offer you this space and as your counsellor help you to achieve the changes you want.

My approach as a counsellor

I believe everyone grows naturally towards the best they can be but sometimes events and choices can hamper you. I will help you to build trust and confidence in your self and in your own decision-making process in a warm and safe, non-judgemental environment.

We can explore at your own pace your relationships, areas of your life and thoughts and feelings which you find challenging, to help you make choices which will enable you to move through life with a sense of satisfaction and fulfilment.

I will help you to explore self-worth and values, to understand and accept who you are, and to reconnect with yourself. I understand how the judgements of others can affect you and I recognise you are an individual with your own unique view of the world and through counselling together I will support you to trust and have confidence in making your own choices in life.

I believe the most important thing in counselling is the therapeutic relationship that will develop between us, where you will feel heard and understood. I will support a trusting relationship that will provide a safe space in which you will feel fully accepted and respected, so you can talk without fear about anything which concerns you.
