My approach as a counsellor

During the time we spend together you will feel heard and understood. I will listen to you and support you and provide you with a warm welcoming space where you feel safe to talk about anything you wish without feeling judged.

I will regularly check in with you to make sure we are working towards your goals and we are working in a way that suits you best. Meeting your needs will always be the focus of our work together. I will help you understand why you feel the way you do and join the dots of repeating patterns which hold you back so you can make the changes to get you to where you want to be.

Everyone grows naturally towards the best they can be but sometimes events and choices can hold us back. We can explore at your pace past and present areas of your life, relationships and thoughts and feelings which are challenging. I will help you make changes which enable you to move through life with a sense of satisfaction and fulfilment.

I will help you build trust and confidence in your self and in your own decision-making. I'll support you to improve self-worth, to understand and accept who you are and to reconnect with your real self. I understand how the criticism and the judgements of others can affect us, and through counselling together, I will help guide you to have genuine trust and confidence in yourself.

Counselling with me

You may feel apprehensive or fearful of 'what to do' or 'how to do it.' It might seem impossible to change or maybe you've tried before and not succeeded. Talking through your issues together will feel like a lightening of the load you have been carrying. I will offer you all the support you need to help you understand and achieve the changes you want.

We will explore why life feels tangled up for you. You will see positive changes happen and let go of behaviours and that inner critical voice which work against you. The emotions that hold you back in life will be unravelled safely so that your feelings become comfortable and support you and you feel a sense of a wiser self now guiding you.

You will always be offered the choice of what we talk about each week. If you're ever unsure where to start, I can begin the session so you don't feel 'on the spot.' I will make sure you have the comfortable space and the time to talk about what's important for you.
